I have purchased a Smarthome KeypadLinc 8 button with dimmer, model #12074 that has a load control.
I also have the model #4020 Maxi-Controller to program the KeypadLinc 8 & 2-way SwitchLincs.
I have not yet installed the KeypadLinc or the 2-way SwitchLincs that I have for the other lights located in my front room. I hope to get to it this weekend!
My questions are;
1) Can some of the KeypadLinc buttons be programmed to be in

I'm not sure the answer to this, if you do not get a helpful response from others then I would recommend contacting Smarthome support to see if they can help.

I got the KeypadLinc installed and working. I have the top four buttons in \"Non-Toggle\" mode. The top two are programed B1-On & B1-Off, the next two are B1-All On & B1-All Off.
There are four remaining buttons that I would like to set up scene controls through HAL. This is where I am now confused. Do I set the remaining buttons to a different address? ex. B2? and have HAL respond to a B2 command?
Thanks, Eric.

You can do a couple of things. For example you could group the remaining 4 buttons and make them B2,B3, B4 & B5. Then have HAL run a differnet scene for each X10 ON command. Ignore any off commands.
Or don't group them and allow HAL to run any or all scenes at once. With one scene for on and one for off on each button.

Jim is right in what he is saying. The thing to keep in mind as a general rule is that the buttons can be programmed to be just about anything you want. Toggle/non-toggle or any address. The address can be to control a specific device or an address that only HAL sees to perform a task or set of tasks.

Eric, I just purchased my keypad controls and we installed them this afternoon. Obviously I am no expert yet. I did set both toggle and non toggle switches on the same keypad. I did set \"All Lights Off\" as well as controlled groups of lights to turn on adn off all together. As an aside, the latter was so slow it is unusuable. I wasn't actually using scene capabilities to do this. I am not sure but I would expect that the scene capabilities would be based on the actual dimmers you are using and not necessarily the keypad.
Good Luck.........Jackie
