I've got HALdeluxe 2.0.33 installed on WinXP, and controlling a lamp module and four Leviton 6291 DHC single-pole wall switches. For the most part, everything works as expected-- except when it comes to the \"device status\" feature in the 2.0 version.
I've manually configured the device properties to reflect the manufacturer and model of the wall switches, and have enabled both the reporting and polling features. However, the status in both the automation setup screen and the HAL HomeNet web page reflects the state of the switches with respect to past HAL commands. It does not reflect the true state of the switch (i.e., if someone walked over and manually turned it on or off.) Shouldn't this be reflected in the device status somehow? I was wanting to set up a rule to perform an action if the switch is in the on position. Shouldn't these switches be able to do this? And HAL too? Can't I manually invoke a \"status poll\" somehow? I'm still a bit of a newbie, so I could be completely overlooking something here.
Thanks!
