Hi Rob,

Yes HALi required a change that caused use to break compatibility. It turns out the QuickInit routine did not initialize some of the areas it was intended to init. So it was a tough call...

I'm not sure i understand what you mean by "I assume this is for X-10?" the interface will control any light in HAL... or macro, group, scene...
I haven't tried pairing the Echo with HAL using...

There has been no change in that area of the code since Build 5.0.14 back on March 12, 2012. (Added support for secure (SSL/TSL) email POP3 and SMTP connections.)

This is related to security on your HAL computer which is preventing the communication and is therefore timing out. Your Camera is not running Windows OS LOL...
