I would just add a few things to what Tyler mentioned. If all you want to do is clear out devices, rules and macros you an delete Device.*, CondMacro*.*, Rule*.*, Macro.*, Group.*
You don't want to delete the Manufact.* which contains the various devices you can add. If you should accidentally delete a critical file, you can run the HAL installer and select Custom as opposed to automatic. On the next screen select just HAL databases which will install the critical data files required for HAL. Regards, Tim
