Known issues in Version 2.0

Here is a list of known issues in Version 2 (build 2.0.33) of the HAL software. Most of the issues listed have an immediate workaround. Home Automated Living will continue to work on resolving these issues.
If you experience problems that are not in this list or if the workaround solution does not work, please send an E-mail to support@AutomatedLiving.com or fill out the Bug Report Form.

 

General Function Known Issues
  • You may hear HAL say "Please repeat" sometimes before you actually say anything.

  • When modifying Macros, Modes, or Scenes, the screen will sometimes expand all items.

  • The HAL System Monitor and logging options does not display the status changes for some security systems.

 

Telephony and Call Intercept Issues
  • Call intercept and other Directory-specific features do not work with Microsoft Outlook (HAL2000-only feature).

    Workaround: Export your contacts from Outlook and import them into HAL to take full advantage of HAL's advanced telephony features. Refer to the Online Help Guide for information on exporting and importing.

 

Internet Information
  • Traffic is not updating for some cities.

 

HAI Issues
  • HAL will allow you to select outputs higher than 99, but the outputs do not appear to be working.

    Workaround: We are looking into this issue.

 

HAL System Issues
  • Automation Setup will refresh the Devices screen, causing the currently selected item to go to the top. This can make it harder to select your devices.

    Workaround: Highlight the device you are looking at so that when the screen refreshes the device you are working on will go to the top. You may also want to use your arrow keys to navigate so that you can keep track of the currently selected item.

  • HAL does not recognize reporting of Preset DIM status as On/Off or ALL Lights On/Off reporting.

  • U.K./International devices not listed for manufacturers and model numbers.

    Workaround: Use "Other Manufacturer" for the manufacturer and set up the device's properties manually.

  • Home Theater buttons with special characters, e.g. "DVD/LD", do not work by voice or HomeNet.

    Workaround: Rename these buttons -- remove the slash (/) from the name.

 

DMC
  • Music may "hiccup" on slower computers when the phone is taken off-hook.

  • Printing the Master Song List may not format correctly on some Windows Me systems.
